Noise Ordinance?

(This post was submitted by a reader and is published here in its entirety.)

How about NOISE ORDINANCE (especially concerning) The Brazwell Creek Shooting Plantation! They have no set hours and they continue to shoot til 9:00 p.m. Sunday afternoons can sound like a war zone. It would be nice if the owners would close up at 7:00 p.m and not open at all on Sundays. That way the residents who live in earshot can have peaceful evenings and Sundays, without all the POW POW POW POW POW POW POW POW!!!!

Noise Ordinance: If you are so annoyed by the Shooting Club, why doesn't the incessant thundering & thumping of the chip mill bother you? It goes on constantly day and night!! Also, didn't there used to be a law against loud mufflers(i.e. those on the numerous Harley motorcycles there seems to be around here!)?

You want to talk about a war zone? Try living in Glennville when they're holding training exercises on Fort Stewart ... our windows rattle with all the shells exploding out there and the helicopters flying overhead.

i totally agree with the Noise Ordinance.....whatever the noise is...music,guns,chip mill...there should be a limit!!! There may be nothing we can do about Ft. Stewart training, but we can do something about other noises after a certain time. If it comes to that, call the police. I have done this when loud music plays after 10:00 pm. There's no reason for that. Let's be considerate of others!

I can't believe that someone would actually complain about the noise from the chip mill. Don't you people know that some of us have to work and sometimes the noise can't be helped. I can see complaining about the shooting, loud music, and loud mufflers, but come on, the chip mill? If that place were not here, then there would be many local people without a job. How do you expect them to "be quiet" while they are working?

The person that posted the comment is probably one of the ones that complains that they have to go out of town to do anything. Give the new buisnesses in our town a chance, if there is a problem talking to the owner in a civil manner may be the key. It doesn't make sense to down a new buisness by plastering negative opinions on the internet.

As for the noise ordinance about the shooting club.. I think that the people that started that plantation should have to experinece what the people that live right there at the club have to deal with on a Sunday. I have lived around the collins Chip mill for nearly 22 years and that is what I go to sleep by when they are doing pine. As for the shooting club well let just say that was a big mistake because not only you not think but the dirt road is messed up all the time from them working on it.

I live within a half mile of the shooting range and can hear it in my house. I can only hear the chip mill if I go outside. You can barely hear it during the day. But try to relax outside in the shade on a Saturday or Sunday and all you hear all day is them shooting. It must be nice for the people shooting over there to go home and enjoy some piece and quite because the people around the shooting range sure don't get much.

There should be an ordinance. You should not have to hear shooting after you get home from a hard days work or on the weekends (especially SUNDAY) when you are trying to relax and get pumped up for another week of work. I am sure that the loud mufflers and motorcycles are annoying as well. There should be an ordinance on that as well. DUH!!! People do not want to hear the crap at their house. The mill needs to put up a sound buffer if the noise is loud.
