The Tattnall County Commissioners are considering a plan to consolidate some of the county's 15 voting precincts. The Board of Elections would like to see them consolidated into one per Commissioner district (or five). There are pros and cons on the issue but overall it looks like it will save money for the county.
Do you feel voting would be more efficient by consolidating some of the election precincts? What has been your experience in the past when going to vote in Tattnall County (wait times, facility itself, ease of process)? Additionally, would you rather vote at a precinct on election day or do you take advantage of the Absentee or Advanced voting instead, prior to election day?

CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY I HAVE TO DRIVE FROM REIDSVILLE OVER TO MANASSAS.. NOT BEING A POLITICIAN, I GUESS I WOULD NEVER UNDERSTAND.. THIS IS NOT CONVENIENT TO SOME FOLKS..
Our apologies . . . someone called in a comment for this post and left it on the answering machine at the office. I don't know what happened but for some reason, we can't find that message on there anymore. (Might have something to do with the 160 plus messages stored on the phone!) Anyway, if you will please call it back in or jott it down on a piece of paper and send it to us, we'll be happy to publish it here. Again, very sorry it got deleted on accident!
Sir, I implore you to in good conscience consider that with rising costs of fuel, and worsening working class economy, the consolidation of voting districts is wrong, and possibly a violation of the Voting Rights Act or The Constitution.
I oppose this move at the time being. NOT a good idea, at a time when the Board of Commissioners needs to gain trust, not lose it.
Anyone who is in position to change the voting precincts is also in the position to lose his/her position. With the price of gasoline rising steadily, it doesn't make sense to make people drive further. This would put undo pressure on those on limited incomes. I vote in Cobbtown and sometimes the wait is pretty long but I would rather wait in line close to home than drive to another town. Leave it alone-it works just fine.
